The Royal Historian of Oz #5…

…will not be in stores due to “impossibly low” preorders. Does that suck? Well, yeah. Of course it does. But there is a silver lining. The series finale is available in several flavors, DRM-free, for a dollar, directly from the publisher. Plus the rest of series should show up sooner rather than later. And you know what? That rules.

When you buy this comic, you have bought a COMIC, not a license to read it via one application. You OWN it. Back it up. Read it with whatever software you want on whatever device you’ve got. Hell, PRINT the thing and pop it right next to your other issues.

Thanks to everyone that’s been going to their local store and supporting us this far. I, along with Tommy and the rest of SLG, make no mistake, wish you could have a complete run of RHO, nice and neat, bagged and boarded, but it just couldn’t quite happen.

6/14/11

I’ve been done with Oz pages for a while (more on that later), but I’m happy report that I’ve hit the ground running on my next project. In fact, issue #1 is already a smidgen over half done. I’m trying not to run my mouth too early, but a handful of teasy process shots never hurt anybody. I’ve changed up the way I work a little, doing thumbnails on index cards instead of my sketchbook, doing tighter roughs and then going straight to inks, hand lettering (not too shabbily), etc. Anyway, so far I’m having a good ol’ time. Now to figure out how to get paid for it…

When I hit the 75% mark, I think I’ll throw some character designs up here.

Khan and the Cadets

Did you know that I do a weekly comic for EnergyVibe and have been at it for something like 8 months? I generally keep it to myself since there’s no public way to read it all, but this week’s comic gets special consideration because it’s my favorite yet (click to embiggen):

The Year is 1

This is from back in April for Natalie’s birthday. I twote it, but managed to forget to post it here.
